Daniel Velasquez

Daniel L. Velasquez, 86, of Scottsville, KY passed away Friday, March 19, 2021, at the Hospice House of Southern KY in Bowling Green, KY.

He was born November 21, 1934 in Del Rio, TX to the late Francisco Velasquez and Ventura Loera Velasquez. He married Linda Brown Velasquez, who survives, October 23, 1976 in Corydon, IN. Daniel served and retired from the United States Army. He was of Christian faith and loved his country and family dearly.

In addition to his wife, Linda Brown Velasquez, of Scottsville, KY, he is survived by

Four Daughters; Robin Corley, of Lakeland, FL, Lori Scheuneman, and husband Gary, of Bartow, FL, Barbara Velasquez, of Brandonburg, KY, and Katie Niles, and husband Thomas, of Scottsville, KY;

One brother; John Velasquez, of San Diego, CA;

One sister; Alice Del Toro, of San Diego, CA;

Fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Daniel Velasquez Jr., two brothers, and four sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 2:00PM at Harwood & Strode Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Crescent Hill Cemetery in Scottsville, KY.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 22, 2021 from 2:00PM-9:00PM and after 7:30AM until funeral service time Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Harwood & Strode Funeral Home.

Military Honors will be conducted at the graveside by the DAV Chapter 20.

Memorials are suggested to the Hospice House of Southern KY and the American Cancer Society and can be made at the funeral home.
