William Wix

William Newton Wix, age 86, of Scottsville, KY, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, at The Medical Center in Scottsville, KY.

William was born on April 29, 1936, in Macon County, TN, to the late Elzora Wix and Mattie Cletious Farley Wix. He was the husband of the late Reva Helton Wix, whom he married on December 14, 1959. William worked as a diesel mechanic for Mclean Trucking and later retired from Roadway Trucking. He was a member of Mt. Union General Baptist Church. William loved antique tractors and enjoyed many tractor shows over the years.

He is survived by one daughter Kathy Barrett, of Summerfield, FL; four sisters, Judy Fullenwider and husband Don, of Birmingham, AL; Ann Hurt Durrett, of Scottsville, KY; Sharon Paris and husband Ricky, of Scottsville, KY; Karen Howard and husband Steve, of Scottsville, KY; one brother Charles Wix and wife Leatrice, of Scottsville, KY; three grandchildren; Kevin Dale Riddle, Stacy Denise Riddle, and Bradly Glenn Wix; two great-grandchildren; Ivan Glenn Wix and Octavia Kira Mae Wix; a special companion, Betty Arnett, of Scottsville, KY, also survive.

In addition to his wife and parents, William is preceded in death by one son Ricky Glenn Wix and four sisters; Margie Louise Wix, Maxine Jones Sands, Norma Oliphant, and Wanda Hinton.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Harwood & Strode Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Mt. Union General Baptist Church Cemetery in Allen County, KY.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2022, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at Harwood & Strode Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to Shriners Children's Hospital and can be made at the funeral home.
