Frances Broughton

Frances Erline Gilliam Broughton, age 89, of Scottsville, KY, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Cal Turner Rehab and Specialty Care in Scottsville, KY.

She was born in Allen County, KY, on November 4, 1932, to the late Willie Fletcher Gilliam and Clara Eunice Meador Gilliam. She married Burl Chalise Broughton, who precedes her in death, on April 22, 1955, in Scottsville, KY. Erline was a homemaker and loved all things shopping. Most of all, she loved being a grandmother. Her grandson Kristopher was her pride and joy. She was also a member of  Mt. Union United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Jeffery Burl Broughton and Joel Dean Broughton, and wife Michelle, all of Scottsville, KY; One grandson Kristopher Dean Broughton of Scottsville, KY; and One sister Emogene Stuart and husband Howard of Bowling Green, KY.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one sister Beatrice Meador.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Harwood & Strode Funeral Home, with burial in the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Holland, KY.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, May 14, 2022, and after 1:00 PM on Sunday, May 15, 2022, until the funeral service.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association and can be made at the funeral home.
