Clifford Jones

October 20, 1968 — October 17, 2017

Clifford Alan Jones, 48, of Quincy, IL passed away October 17, 2017 in Macon, IL. The Scottsville, Kentucky native is remembered for his infectious sense of humor, love of family and commitment to his faith. Born in Bowling Green, KY on October 20, 1968, Cliff was raised in Scottsville where he graduated from Allen County-Scottsville High School in 1986 before enrolling at Western Kentucky University. His lifelong passion for animals and the outdoors led him to earn his degree in Animal Science in 1992 and to forge a successful career in the industry. He met the love of his life, Karen Costello Jones, in his hometown and they were united in marriage in a candlelit celebration on December 30, 1994. Their children, Karrigan and Collin, were their father's pride and joy and shared his love of the outdoors and adventure. Cliff's career as a swine production manager took his family to Nebraska, North Carolina, Iowa (twice), Missouri (twice), Tennessee, Kentucky, and Illinois where he has left a trail of memories with many wonderful friends. Through the changing landscape and adventures of the places they called home, Cliff and Karen taught their children the importance of a strong family unit with God at its center. Besides spending time with family, Cliff loved hunting, fishing, golfing, chocolate and absolutely everything about pigs. He also loved it whenever his University of Kentucky Wildcats hit the hardwood. Most of all, he loved his wife, his children and his Savior. Cliff is survived by his wife Karen Costello Jones, daughter Karrigan, and son Collin, all of Quincy, IL; his parents John (Janetta) Jones of Scottsville, KY, and Dorthy Pearson of Bowling Green, KY; brother Steve (Sharon) Jones of Scottsville, KY; Father and mother in-law Joe and Benita Costello of Scottsville, KY; Brother in-law Chadwick Costello and wife Ashley of Bardstown, KY; and many nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ernest and Bertha Pearson and John William and Ruby Jones.
