Barbara Mayes

Barbara Ann Mayes, 75 of Scottsville, KY passed away Wednesday May 30, 2018 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY. She was born in Scottsville, KY on September 25, 1942 to the Late Lattie Douglas and Mildred Carter Douglas. She married Ronald Mayes who survives on August 21, 1959 in Scottsville, KY. She was a retired customer service associate and worked at Amerigas Inc. She was a member of White Plains Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her husband Ronald Mayes of Scottsville, KY; She is survived by One daughter Rhonda Bachschmidt and husband Michael of Scottsville, KY; One brother Morris Douglas and wife Betty of Alvaton, KY; One sister Linda Stovall and husband Larry of Scottsville, KY; Three grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one brother Bobby Douglas and one sister Sue Read. Funeral service will be held Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Harwood & Strode Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Crescent Hill Cemetery in Scottsville, KY. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 PM Saturday, June 2, 2018 and after 7:30 AM Sunday, June 3, 2018 until time of funeral service at Harwood and Strode Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Southern Kentucky or Barefoot Republic and can be made at the funeral home.
